Inspirational Video Alert

The producers of the independently organized TedX event in Stockholm just posted several videos from this summer’s talks on YouTube. If you’re not familiar with the Ted Conferences/Ted Talks, their slogan is "ideas worth spreading" and their goal is to inspire us in every aspect of our professional and personal lives. "TED has created a program called TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience."

The talk (in English) from the June Stockholm event (another Stockholm TedX event is scheduled for mid September) that really caught my eye featured Gothenburg native David Lega (named Speaker of the Year in Sweden in 2004). Lega shared his story on being born with AMC, a disability that left him paralyzed in both arms and left him with no muscles in his legs. Despite doctors telling his parents that it was unlikely he’d ever be able to sit up by himself without support, he became a paralympian in swimming. At the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta, he set two world swim records and was honored with the Triumph of the Human Spirit award. His story about overcoming obstacles, persevering and believing in yourself will inspire as you watch this talk from TedX Stockholm....
