Positive energy. It filled the room at the Sweden Networking Group's first mixer on April 10th. Several new business relationships are budding following the group's networking event at Berns Salonger. Business opportunities are blooming between newly introduced group members. Two guest speakers, Annette Sandgren and Peter Sandberg, also generously donated their time to speak to the group on the value of networking and blogging to increase business opportunities.
I founded the Sweden Networking Group in early January on the professional networking website LinkedIn. Looking to relocate to Stockholm from San Francisco, I needed to find a way to start connecting with the Swedish business community. The goal of the Sweden Networking Group: to supplement the quality networking resources in the Nordic region by providing a networking group without membership fees based in Sweden, with English as its main language. A region-specific community forum/website devoted to Nordic business interests and group networking events will provide many opportunities to build new business relationships and opportunities for group members within the region, including the expat community in Sweden. 395 LinkedIn users now belong to the Sweden Networking Group, with 328 members in Sweden ( 217 in the Stockholm region) and 19 members in the surrounding Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland and Norway.
